MAT 2020
Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is administered to gain admission by over 600 business schools across India in the Master of Business Administration and related programs. MAT is a standard aptitude test conducted by All India Management Association. Any national or international B-School may recognize MAT Score as a Score Card-based entry from which the candidates are issued. The examination is carried out 4 times a year. The score from the MAT exam is valid for one year. MAT Application for the February 2020 MAT Exam is underway.
Eligibility criteria:
Candidates can appear for MAT review based on the following eligibility criteria.
- From any stream, candidates must be a graduate of a recognized university.
- The authority also permits students who are in their final year to register for the 2020 MAT test.
- No age criteria are specified.
- Candidate can attempt as many times one wants.
Registration process:
Step 1 – The applicant needs to visit the official website and register with a new login. Valid e-mail id is required for the application process. Pay attention while filling in the details as once updated details won’t be changed. On successful, a confirmation email will be sent on the registered ID.
Step 2 – Already registered candidates can start with this step. To complete the application process next step is to fill the online application form. The details would be like Personal details, educational details and more.
Step 3 – Submit a scanned copy of your signature and Photograph.
Step 4 – Make the online payment of application fees.
Step 5 – Check your approval status.
Step 6 – Admit card can be downloaded. The admission card specifies the details and examination details of the candidate, including the address of the exam center allocated

Exam Pattern:
The examination is conducted in both the paper-based test (PBT) and computer-based test (CBT) modes. The test time will be 2 hours 30 minutes. In total there are 200 questions in the paper. The five sections included in the test are mathematical skills, intelligence and critical reasoning, Indian and global environment, data analysis & sufficiency and language understanding. Talking about the marking scheme there will be 1 mark for a correct answer and 0.25 negative marking for every wrong answer.
Syllabus:
The syllabus basically consists of academic knowledge gained during the 10th, 12 and graduation years. Nonetheless, for mathematics paper, the syllabus norm for preparation is unique to Class 10, as delegated by the board of CBSE. Subject wise the candidates can follow the below-mentioned guidelines. There are 40 questions for each section.
Mathematics – One can prepare the syllabus of class 10th CBSE board Mathematics.
Language Comprehension – This section is based on English grammar, reading comprehension, sentence correction, fill in the blanks, opposites, etc. A passage will be given, and you will have to answer the questions that are related to it.
Data Analysis and Sufficiency – This section will judge the Data Analysis and Sufficiency skills of a candidate, covering general topics such as graphs, the sufficiency of data, Venn diagram, Pie Charts, data tables, etc.
Intelligence and Critical Reasoning – This segment evaluates the intelligence and critical reasoning of the candidates. It covers topics such as a course of action, family trees, blood relationships, numeric grid, pie chart, calendar, critical reasoning, multidimensional arrangement, syllogism, column graph, critical reasoning, series, visual reasoning, etc.
Indian and Global Environment – This segment includes a topic that tests the general awareness of Indian Economy and Global Environmental Awareness of candidates. Points like world record topics, industry, books and writers, history, social issues, geography, finance, automobiles, etc. are included in it.
Tips for Preparation:
Preparing for the MAT exam is not very difficult as it has been noted that the level of difficulty in previous year papers has been moderate and remains unchanged. It is comparatively less difficult compared to other MBA entrance exams. Below mentioned tips might help you to achieve the desired results.
Prepare a routine – Analyze how much time it would take for you to cover the complete syllabus. Accordingly, one can plan a routine to study all the topics on time.
Make notes – One must inculcate a habit of preparing notes while preparation.
Revision – Revision is the secret to obtaining a good score in the test, and candidates can start revising daily that would help and save you from last-minute revision. Also, the prepared notes will be helpful.
Mock tests – Candidates can solve mock tests and question papers from the preceding year. MAT Mock tests include the questions applicable to both Paper-based Mock tests and computer-based Mock tests. This gives a clear view of how the exam is going to be in real.
Reading – Applicant can read current affairs and news from different sources such as newspapers and television etc. This will help to increase knowledge regarding general awareness of the Indian Economy and Global environment.
